Bright Spark Celebrates 20th Anniversary

On 1st October 2025, Bright Spark Studios celebrated 20 years in business.

Founded in 2005 by Andrew Deptford, a Media Production graduate from the University of Lincoln, the company began its journey at Sparkhouse Studios — the university’s business incubation centre. The guidance and support available there provided the foundations for Bright Spark to grow in its first decade.

Over the last two decades we have:

• Delivered projects for clients across the UK and into Europe
• Grown from a video-only production company into a trusted livestream partner
• Invested in technical knowledge, resilient workflows, and evolving equipment
• Worked with public sector organisations, SMEs, and corporate clients alike

Technology has advanced enormously in that time. We’ve moved from SD DVCAM and HDV tape formats, through HD XDCAM, to today’s UHD 4K production with Sony FX6 and FX9 cameras using XAVC-I. This shift from tape-based to digital, non-linear workflows has changed how we work — but the foundations of quality production, clarity, and resilience remain constant.
