Studio You Live / Learn Live
The Brief
Bright Spark Studios was commissioned by Learn Live to deliver a live-streamed panel event for Hopscotch, as part of the Studio You / This Girl Can initiative — a campaign funded by The National Lottery and Sport England to encourage greater participation in physical activity among girls.
The event took place in front of a live audience at a school in central London, and was designed to share powerful, positive stories from women in sport and education, while reaching a broader audience via online streaming.
Our Approach
We delivered a full end-to-end production service, managing all technical elements to support both the in-room experience and the live broadcast.
Production highlights included:
Multi-Camera Filming
A dynamic multi-camera setup captured the panel discussion from multiple angles, including wide shots and speaker close-ups, ensuring a professional and engaging livestream.
Sound, Lighting & Screens
On-site sound reinforcement allowed the live audience to follow the discussion clearly. Lighting was designed for both room ambience and camera clarity, and screens were provided for confidence monitoring and visual support.
Live Vision Mixing
Using our vMix-based Portable Production Unit, we managed all switching, overlays and graphics live during the event to deliver a polished on-screen result.
Bonded Connectivity with Starlink
To ensure a resilient livestream from the school site, we used Starlink satellite internet alongside bonded 4G via Peplink, with streaming handled through our Haivision A220 encoder — providing a stable connection independent of venue infrastructure.
The Outcome
The event was successfully livestreamed via the LearnLive platform, reaching schools and viewers beyond the room and amplifying the campaign’s message.
The panel shared a range of inspiring stories focused on breaking down barriers to participation in PE and physical activity — empowering girls to feel confident and included in sport.
Feedback from Hopscotch, Learn Live and school staff was extremely positive, with the event praised for its clarity, energy, and technical reliability.
