SNF UK Health & Safety Induction Films / SNF UK

The Brief
SNF UK, a leading manufacturer of water treatment solutions, needed to modernise their site induction process at their Billingham facility.
Previously, all inductions – for visitors, contractors, and new starters – were delivered in person using a PowerPoint presentation. This required a member of staff to be available each time someone arrived on site.
The goal was to create two concise and professional video inductions that:
- Standardised the messaging across audiences
- Reduced the reliance on manual delivery
- Maintained a clear and compliant safety briefing
- Could support a move towards pre-visit online viewing
Our Approach
We worked with SNF UK’s Health & Safety team to understand the current induction content and develop a production workflow that translated the PowerPoint into clear, engaging video.
Key elements included:
- Script development: Based on the client’s existing material, we created a unified script with customisation for each audience (new starters vs. visitors/contractors).
- On-site filming: Captured supporting footage from key areas across the site – including access points, PPE zones, safety signage, and emergency procedures.
- Voiceover delivery: A professional voiceover guided viewers through each topic, replacing the need for live narration.
- Motion graphics: Animated titles and on-screen highlights were used to reinforce key safety messages and site procedures.
- Output planning: Both versions were designed to work in a reception or gatehouse setting, but also with the potential to be distributed online for pre-arrival viewing.
The inductee is required to complete a short test to validate understanding and ensure compliance with site safety requirements.
The Outcome
The two induction films have significantly improved the efficiency and consistency of SNF UK’s onboarding process. Benefits include:
- Reduced time and resource required from staff for repeated inductions
- A clear, repeatable message for all personnel entering the site
- Improved visual engagement and retention compared to a static presentation
- Future-proofing for potential remote or online induction processes
The films are now in regular use at the Billingham site, with plans to update the content as needed to reflect any future changes in site layout or procedure.
